Top Bulawayo Artist Meet To Produce EP
It is early 2024 and a group of top artists from Bulawayo have come together to start work on a unique project that has never been done in the city before.
The artists are working on putting together an Extended Play record and have so far recorded a few tracks.
They consist of some of the best talent in Bulawayo at the moment.
The group consist of Mzoe7, Dr Juta, LU, & Mawiza just to name a few. Most of the artists involved come from Entumbane.
There is great talent in Entumbane also not forgetting to mention Skido from Emakhandeni for the effort he has put towards this project as the producer.
“We as artists, all come from different genres and have different followings, we decided to work on an album together because it is something we enjoy, it also gives us a challenge and allows us to grow our creativity,” said LU.
McJutar Mpofu, stage name Dr Juta, who does Afro pop and Amapiano, has a big following said “The beauty of the project is that people are not just confined to their artistic creations.
“We are learning to collaborate, to share ideas and even when someone says ‘I think this will sound better from a House Music aspect’, even if we are doing Amapiano, we take heed because that is the beauty of the project,” he said.
His counterpart, Mzoe7, who followed on to say that the idea behind the project is to create prominent music.
“As artists we always look for ways to get to those locations and that is how the idea of the EP came about.
“It is a vision of getting to different locations outside Bulawayo and Zimbabwe as well and as artists we thought it would be more viable to work as a team and put together one project that can appeal to a wider audience and also to promote unity and talent from our ‘kasi’ Entumbane where we all come from”, said Mzoe7.
All the artists agreed that the project is a huge opportunity to sell artistic talent that is coming out of Bulawayo and this is a new platform which will create room for more to come.
“The EP is expected to be released soon and the public will get a first full insight of what we have been doing when the first video is released,” said Mawiza.
