I Am Death (Poem Written By Trust Maguta)
Who can dare stand against me
Who can quench my thirst for blood
I am the vampire of old
Blood Thirsty Tyrant was my name
You can call me Death
I am the pain that beats vengeance
The trickster
I leave the rich to believe i can be evaded
Yet wen i come i choose not
The rich are my supper
The babes my breakfast
Lunch of the hot bloods my favourite
Lay your future plain
I come in like a flood
I wash away hopes of the hopeful
I take where their hearts desire
I leave the old man for last
Foolishness is wisdom to me
The good die young is my mantra
I am blind to reason
I sweep the yard of a fool clean
No Haven have i not breached
I lay waste strongholds of renown
Everyone knows my name
I rattle the meek and merciful
No one dares ignore my call
The world is mine i say!
I rule with an iron fist
Unfair is life; the widow laments
Why? The orphan cries out loud
I take no notice of the pain
Cry me a river and see if i care
Love dreads me
Happiness holds its breath when it smells me
A stench of disaster is who i am
A bully you cant chastise
A villain
A Celebrity to myself
A reality you cannot escape
No vaccine can stop me
Intangible and unseen yet kings bow and weep at my feet.
Inventors die before they know me
A math problem no one can ever solve
I am a trap that holds onto its prey of choice
Neither shy, nor remorseful
Only my prey sees me coming
I am Death
I have no favourites
I have no friends.
A lone rider with a mission to accomplish
I take away the laughter from their mouths.
Any new day starts with thanks to those i spare
The wise meet their match
Call it pain, i call it mercy
I set the prisoner free
The sick suffers no more
The toil of this world comes to an end
I am the death to responsibilities
The finish line in bold
Hunger, Disasters, Wars, Envy and Greed
Are my contracted mercenaries
No silver or gold can buy you mercy
I am the sworn enemy of life.
I am Death
