CAPE TOWN — A 28-year-old woman was stabbed to death while reportedly on her way to tell her boyfriend that his brother had been fatally shot hours earlier. The two killings have left a community in shock, with police investigating the deaths of 36-year-old Clinton Browers and 28-year-old Zakira Christians.

Browers was shot at approximately 10:45pm in Nerina Close after an unknown gunman allegedly opened fire while he was drinking.
According to police, Browers attempted to flee after being shot but collapsed and died at the scene. Family members said he had been shot seven times.
His relatives said they heard gunshots from their home but only later discovered that Browers had been the victim.
Browers’ father reportedly told investigators that his son had received threats between two and three weeks before the shooting. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, with a possible gang-related motive among the lines of inquiry.
Browers leaves behind two children, aged 12 and five. Several hours later, tragedy struck again when Christians was found dead in an open field next to Clover Crescent at around 6:30am.

According to relatives, Christians had been travelling to see her boyfriend, who was Browers’ brother, to tell him about the fatal shooting.
She never reached him. Family members said Christians had suffered a single stab wound to the chest. They said there were no obvious signs of a struggle at the scene.
Christians, who was 28, leaves behind a nine-year-old son. Police confirmed that a murder investigation had been opened after a woman was found with a stab wound to her chest and was declared dead at the scene.
Capt. F.C. van Wyk said the circumstances surrounding Christians’ death remained under investigation. Both Browers’ shooting and Christians’ stabbing are being investigated as separate murder cases. Police have not reported any arrests in connection with either incident, and investigations into the two deaths are continuing.
