Lo girl is from Vosloorus Extension 9!

A young woman believed to be from Vosloorus Extension 9 has become the centre of online debate after social media users linked her to controversial videos allegedly connected to a fraudulent casting operation known as African Audition.

The woman, who reportedly uses the modelling name Sammy Dollhouse and the TikTok handle @biancad950, was recognised by several social media users who claim to have seen her previously at Katlehong Crossing and Chris Hani Mall. Despite the controversy, some commenters described her as a talented actress and expressed sympathy for her situation.

Online discussions allege that participants were promised legitimate modelling or acting opportunities and paid around R10,000 to attend what were presented as interviews or auditions. However, many commenters now believe these opportunities were deceptive and exploitative.

One social media user claimed to have gone to school with the woman and recalled that she once aspired to become a doctor. Others expressed heartbreak, linking the situation to high unemployment and desperation among young people.

“This is not something to laugh about,” wrote one commenter. “Unemployment is pushing our youth into dangerous situations. It could happen to anyone who is genuinely looking for work.”

The debate intensified after the South African Police Service (SAPS) issued an official warning regarding a man identified as Ivo Suzee, who allegedly operates a fraudulent online casting and recruitment service called African Audition.

According to SAPS, Suzee allegedly uses misleading online advertisements and false promises of modelling or entertainment work to lure women and young girls. Victims reportedly attend what they believe are interviews or auditions, only to be se-xually exploited, with some encounters allegedly recorded and explicit material distributed.

SAPS stated that such actions may contravene the Cybercrimes Act 19 of 2020, the Films and Publications Act 65 of 1996 (as amended), as well as other sexual and related offences.

“This is a serious matter that poses a direct threat to young women and girls,” SAPS said in a statement. “Members of the public are urged to verify all casting or recruitment opportunities and report any suspicious activity immediately.”

Authorities have appealed to communities to remain vigilant and to protect vulnerable job seekers, particularly young women, from online recruitment scams disguised as entertainment opportunities.
