Award-winning South African singer Vusi Nova has shared an emotional message after surviving what he described as a serious car accident, saying the frightening experience reminded him just how precious life truly is.
The popular musician and his bodyguards were involved in the crash while travelling to a performance in the Vaal after attending media personality Somizi Mhlongo’s 50th birthday celebration at Sun City. Earlier that day, Vusi had also performed at a show in Pretoria before continuing his journey.
Speaking to fans in a heartfelt video shared on social media, the As’phelelanga hitmaker admitted that the incident completely changed his perspective on life.
“When I left my friends at Sun City, I never imagined it could be the last time I would see them,” he said. “Then the accident happened, and it made me realise that life is incredibly short.”
Vusi urged people not to take their loved ones for granted, encouraging everyone to openly express their love and appreciation while they still have the chance.
“The people you say you love—make sure they know it. Tell them how you feel because you never know what could happen a second from now,” he said.
Although visibly shaken by the ordeal, the singer said he wasn’t trying to preach but simply sharing a lesson he had learned from narrowly escaping tragedy.
“That was a serious accident, but by the grace of God, my bodyguards and I are all okay. We thank God for protecting us,” he added.
Images and videos shared online showed extensive damage to the vehicles involved, highlighting the severity of the collision. Despite the frightening scene, Vusi and his team were fortunate to survive.
The crash also brought back memories of another accident Vusi survived in February 2020. At the time, he was travelling to the airport when his vehicle rolled over. Remarkably, he escaped without any injuries and later said he believed the experience was proof that he still had more to accomplish in life.
Fans flooded social media with messages of relief and support after hearing the news, with many expressing gratitude that the beloved singer walked away from yet another terrifying incident.
