_📌Proverbs 11:2 (KJV) When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom._
– It’s very easy to detect pride in other people but it’s difficult to detect it in yourself. Pride of is the consciousness of one’s own dignity,it is the desire to be recognized and appreciated,don’t allow pride have the best of you, today I will share three ways on how to deal with pride.
1✍️. Surround yourself with With God fearing people and true friends who are not afraid of rebuking you.
-Pride knows how to kill it’s prey, mostly proud people reject correction therefore they surround themselves with friends who fears to correct them or with those who always sing them praise always. A friend who can rebuke you when you are wrong is a true friend.
2✍️. Listen to the counsel of the elders not the youth,Follow those who walked the Road of life before you.
-There is a King in the Bible who listened to the counsel of the youth over the counsel of elders and that caused his Kingdom to be divided(1 Kings 12vs1-33)
_📌1 Kings 12:8 (KJV) But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:_
– Its good to have mentors and people to give you guidance in life,that is the main reason why we need Pastors and to mentors to guide us.
3✍️ _. Don’t give yourself a place of honour ,be humble and allow people to honour you_
_📌Luke 14:8 (KJV) When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;_(further read to vs 11)
– Use this approach always to avoid embarrassment and shame,don’t think yourself to be highly than anyone else.
