According to Jacaranda FM, stool donations are used for medical purposes such as fecal microbiota transplants (FMT), where healthy stool is introduced into patients suffering from gastrointestinal conditions. Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Capitec Bursary 2026, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen with a valid ID.
  • Be in Matric in 2025 or already have completed Matric.
  • Intend to study full-time towards a Bachelor’s or Honours Degree (NQF 7 or higher).
  • Be registered, or planning to register, at a DHET/CHE-recognised tertiary institution (universities and private colleges only).
  • Achieve a minimum average of 65% in Matric; if already studying, maintain a 65% average in 2024 and 2025.

⚠️ Not covered: N4/5/6, Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Master’s, Doctoral, UNISA, TVET, or community colleges.

Preference will be given to:

  • Students completing qualifications in minimum time (no N+1).
  • Applicants aligning with Capitec’s transformation and employment equity goals.
