UMLAZI, South Africa – Residents of Malukazi in Umlazi were left shocked on Monday morning after a person was found dead following reports that cries for help had been heard during the early hours of the day.
According to information shared by members of the local community, residents on Road 3 heard someone calling out in distress before dawn. When daylight broke, they went to investigate and reportedly discovered the individual lying seriously injured.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but paramedics declared the person dead upon arrival.
At the time of publication, the identity of the deceased had not been confirmed, and the body had reportedly not yet been removed from the scene.
Community members have appealed to anyone who may recognize the deceased, based on the clothing they were wearing, to come forward and assist with identifying the victim.
