This two-week programme combines online life skills training, in-person workshops, and hands-on retail experience to boost employability and prepare participants for the job market.

The RFP equips young South Africans with essential skills and real-world experience to thrive in retail. Through a blend of online learning, in-person training, and practical work exposure, participants gain a competitive edge in securing entry-level retail jobs.

Programme Structure

The programme consists of three core components:

  1. Online Life Skills Course
    A self-paced course focusing on critical soft skills, including:
  • Personal development
  • Self-esteem and emotional development
  • Healing from past challenges
  • Vision and goal setting
  • Communication and conflict resolution
  • Work ethic and time management
  • Basic HR principles
  • Personal health and job preparation
  1. In-Person Training & Interviews
    Participate in hands-on retail training sessions and interviews, offering a pathway to potential job opportunities.
  2. One Week of Hands-On Work Experience
    Gain practical experience in a retail environment to understand daily operations and build workplace confidence.

Basic Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Have completed Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Be aged 18–33 years
  • Be unemployed
  • Have no criminal record
  • Have access to a smartphone or computer with 200MB of data for the online application and assessment
