Seshego, Limpopo – A two-week-old baby girl was found abandoned on a drain in Extension 75, Seshego, outside Polokwane, on Monday, July 28, 2025, leaving residents stunned. The Security Officer will ensure the safety of hospital premises, personnel, and patients by managing access control, monitoring surveillance, and responding to incidents. Key Responsibilities
The Security Officer will:
- Manage access and egress control to prevent unauthorized entry, removal of persons, vehicles, dangerous objects, or illegal substances.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and fire alarm systems to detect and prevent security threats, vehicle thefts, or forcible entries.
- Protect buildings, key points, patients, visitors, and personnel by patrolling fenced areas and premises.

- Provide supportive security services to prevent injuries, patient abscondment, litigation, and adverse incidents.
- Report and record all incidents, patient movements, and related activities accurately.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify, candidates must:
- Hold a General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7) or equivalent.
- Be registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) at Grade ‘C’ level under the Security Industry Regulations Act (Act 56 of 2001).
- Have appropriate experience as a Security Officer, preferably in a hospital or similar environment.
- Be able to communicate in at least two of the Western Cape’s official languages (English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa).
- Possess knowledge of managing aggression and violence.
- Demonstrate self-discipline, motivation, and the ability to work under pressure independently.
Inherent requirements include willingness to work shifts, public holidays, weekends, and rotate between units.
