Jub Jub Court Case Takes New Turn After Arrest Warrant Is Issued
Media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye is expected to return to the Germiston Magistrates’ Court next month as his firearm-related case takes another turn.
Maarohanye’s matter was postponed to 7 September 2026 after he failed to appear in court on Monday, 24 August, reportedly because he was unwell.
Following his absence, the court issued a warrant for his arrest. However, the warrant was held over, meaning he was not immediately taken into custody and will instead be expected to appear at his next scheduled court date.
What is Jub Jub accused of?
The television personality is facing charges relating to an alleged incident involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale on 14 June 2026.
He has been charged with allegedly discharging a firearm in a public place as well as pointing an object that could make another person believe it was a firearm.
As part of the investigation, authorities previously searched Maarohanye’s home, where a pellet gun was reportedly seized.
The case has already been postponed on previous occasions while investigators worked to complete outstanding aspects of their investigation.
State says it is ready to proceed
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has indicated that the State is now ready to move forward with the prosecution.
NPA Gauteng spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole said prosecutors remain committed to handling the matter fairly and in accordance with the law.
The latest postponement means Maarohanye will now have to return to the Germiston Magistrates’ Court on 7 September 2026, when the matter is expected to continue.
The charges against him remain allegations at this stage, and Maarohanye has not been convicted of the offences.
