Bolt Driver Mthokozisi Siyanda Mvelase Laid to Rest in uLundi 🕊️
Family, friends, colleagues, and the e-hailing community gathered today to bid an emotional farewell to Mthokozisi Siyanda Mvelase, the Bolt driver who tragically lost his life after being shot and set alight in his vehicle a few weeks ago. His remains were transported from Johannesburg to his hometown of uLundi, KwaZulu-Natal, where fellow Bolt drivers lined the streets in a powerful show of unity and respect.
Born on May 13, 1998, Mthokozisi attended Nqulwane Primary School and Nhlungwane High School before beginning his career in the e-hailing industry. Remembered as a hardworking and humble young man, his life was heartbreakingly cut short at just 26 years old, leaving behind pain and unanswered questions for his loved ones.
The funeral service took place at Khuzwayo, Ulundi, with burial at Nhlungwane Cemetery. Thanks to the support of Icebolethu Funerals, Mthokozisi was given a dignified send-off. For those unable to attend in person, the service was live-streamed on Icebolethu platforms, allowing many to pay their last respects from afar. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
