SCHOOL KIDS CAUGHT IN YET ANOTHER TAXI CRASH. WATCH VIDEO BELOW

There is growing fear across Gauteng as January continues to claim young lives on the road — with schoolchildren once again at the centre of a morning crash.

Just days after the Vaal tragedy that killed learners, another scholar transport vehicle was involved in a collision in Germiston, leaving three pupils injured and reigniting public outrage.

The latest crash happened early Tuesday along Kingfisher Avenue in Elspark, where a Toyota Quantum carrying schoolchildren smashed into a Volkswagen sedan.

Emergency services rushed to the scene as parents across the province woke up to more disturbing news involving scholar transport.

According to City of Ekurhuleni emergency officials, the Quantum was carrying nine learners from different schools when the collision occurred. Three pupils suffered minor injuries. Six other learners, along with both drivers, escaped without physical harm.

Fire and rescue teams from Wadeville and Vosloorus were dispatched shortly after 7.30am, with firefighters securing the scene and assisting the injured children.

The three injured scholars were taken by private ambulance to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.

No one was trapped in the wreckage, but traffic along Kingfisher Avenue was temporarily disrupted as emergency operations unfolded.

The crash comes just a day after the nation was shaken by the Vanderbijlpark horror, where learners travelling in a Toyota Quantum were killed after colliding with a truck in the Vaal.

Following that incident, Panyaza Lesufi publicly expressed shock and grief, describing the loss of young lives as devastating for the province.

Now, with another scholar transport crash added to January’s growing list, concern is turning into anger.

Parents are questioning vehicle safety, driver conduct, and whether enough is being done to protect children on their daily journey to school.

City of Ekurhuleni traffic officials have launched an investigation into the Germiston crash, but the cause remains unclear.

For many families, the pattern is becoming impossible to ignore — and the fear is no longer about if another crash will happen, but when.
